SO41 catering was created in May 2019 by husband and wife Matt & Lisa Doe with the mission of bringing banging street food to the New Forest from their little black food truck !!
We think differently – and it starts with our name. SO41 is the post code where we grew up, where we have worked, where we met each other, where we live, where we started a family and where our kids are growing up. We want to support local businesses and local people as they support us, we are about building a community spirit.
We believe in keeping it simple, using the best local produce we can get our hands on, treating it with respect, making as much as we can from scratch because that way we can control the process. That way we know that we are being true to ourselves every step of the way and that the flavours are going to shine through the end product.
We’re not perfect but we’re trying! We are working hard to minimise our effect on the environment. We recycle, we only use compostable packaging and cutlery, we are keeping our use of single use plastic to an absolute minimum, we use an energy company that gets all is power from renewable sources and we use the complete ingredient from bones into the stock pot to carrot peelings in the dehydrator to make powder to fermenting excess vegetables.
We also believe in keeping things relaxed, working with a smile on our faces and creating a family feeling as we feel it brings the best out of us and our team. We are an independent family run business with big dreams, a big heart and the determination to achieve.
What started with street food has grown to be so much more and we are not planning on sitting still. We have added to our arsenal and we now own The Fizz Tin, a stylish horse box mobile bar and Mange Tout Catering, a more formal catering company for dinner parties, weddings and high end events.
